Here is tip number two in our series on large-format digital printing.

Since the blueprint process was first developed in 1842, many types of base materials have been used. Paper was the most common choice for printing, but linen was used for projects requiring durability.

Today we use Large-format Digital Copiers to produce your plans, similar to your office copiers but much larger. Most large-format copies can print 36″ wide by any manageable length. The image is created with toner. We can start with scanning and printing your plans, or we can print directly from your digital files. We can reduce or enlarge the size of the prints.

We print on standard 20# white bond paper, but we also have blue, yellow, green and pink available (colored bond is usually used to signify revisions on a project).

If your plan library is already digitized, terrific. If that project’s not completed yet, consider letting us scan to disk for you (see last week’s blog for more information).
